What turned me off was that it only worked with a very specific rFactor executable, which was no longer available I think (currently rFactor is only sold online AFAIK). Good posts, I didn't know the rFE was so buggy. I'd rather appreciate Pako for his 2012 mod because he refused to put rFE in v1.0 and only as optional update in v1.2 than IMT or any other modding team that say 'you want to race with our mod? You need 200 extra plugins and stupid stuff that you don't actually need' and doesn't care at all about the community. In the end, rFE was a great idea, but deing developed very slowly and being released with bugs like ISI's rF2 doesn't make it usefull for the meanings it was created for. Our mod was the only GT/Touring one to be 'rFE-ready', able to be run also on Win8 even without the plugin installed, but only God knows when/if it will be ever released. Also, nobody bothered to develop a GT/Touring mod featuring wet tires and rFE features and I lost interest in it. It's good for the wet weather, the wet tires and stuff, but only F1 modding teams are using it and not even because they want to use the features it has to offer, but because of the graphical effect of the tires change during pits (Eye candy effect-only in 4 words) leaving behind users that can't use the plugin and so the mod itself (Not only for Win8, the rFE works only with DX9/full settings). Lots of announced features are missing, random bugs here and there, online there are problems with servers/side-clients randomly. 1st because on this computer I have Win8 and those scumbags refused to make a patch to make it work also on it by saying that 'the rFE 1.0 will be available soon and will support also Win8' (That was said months ago, now we're in May 2013), 2nd because even if I get it to work on the other computer where I have Win7, for me it's still not ready for a proper use. BTW why won't you play rF mods with rFE plugin? You got me curious. Thanks, will search later for something that suit my taste.įor the rFE, I don't use it for two reasons.
